Dadshouse received an award from the outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May in recognition of the support we provide and offer to single dads.
In a personal letter to Billy, Prime Minister Theresa May said:
“Through ‘Dads House’ you are bringing together dads to share their experiences and receive practical and emotional support. Drawing on your own experience, you are connecting single fathers across the country and having a profound impact on their lives and the lives of their families.” https://www.pointsoflight.gov.uk/dads-house/
Dads House to visit Speaker’s House - We are delighted to have been invited to Speaker’s House for a reception with the all-party parliamentary group on single parent families. This latest statement is from the reception:
"I am grateful to the hon. Lady for giving way so early in her speech. She is making a fantastic return to Westminster Hall from the dizzying heights; she is a principled person and we on the Opposition Benches all love her. The hon. Lady mentions challenges. Is she aware of Dads House, which does all sorts of things to represent single dads? There are 400,000 single-parent families headed up by dads, which is 13.7% of all single-parent families. Dads House has its own food bank and does buddying, breakfast clubs and football—a sport that is close to the hon. Lady’s heart. Would she be interested in meeting members of the group? In fact, everyone in this House has a good opportunity to meet them, because after Prime Minister’s questions on 20 March they are coming to Speaker’s House for a reception with the all-party parliamentary group on single parent families—and all hon. Members are invited. The group does great work."
Don't put pressure on children to choose between their parents.

Communicate in advance with your ex.
Involve the extended family where appropriate.
Look after yourself.

Written submission to House of Commons Women and Equalities Committee Inquiry on “Fathers and the Workplace”
We are submitting this evidence to this Inquiry, as we hear from and help a great deal of fathers who are either struggling to be recognised as ‘hands on’ fathers in the workplace – or as will be clear from this particular submission – are completely denied the opportunity, and thus enter unemployment reluctantly.
The issues, we believe, are a mixture of employers failing to recognise a shift in the structure of families in the modern age, as well as significant prejudice and discrimination towards fathers, who want to break away from the traditional stereotype of fathers and the workplace....
How often have you witnessed your kids hide in embarrassment when you take to the dancefloor? Perhaps your kids just don’t appreciate your moves or maybe they are just jealous?
To help bring this very important issue to the fore - and have some fun in the process - we have teamed up with kids’ pop band - Zeamu Music. They are all about giving kids great music that they can relate to and that reflects their lives and interests and it just so happens they have a song about dad dancing.

We’re back, and we’re sharing with you a letter we received from the Prime Minister recently, which very kindly shows David Cameron’s support for the work Dads House do to promote the welfare of the family through the inclusion of fathers in children’s lives.
But the Prime Minister is not the only fan of DadsHouse’s work. Maria Miller MP, who was the Minister for Disabled People from 2010 to 2012, and is now the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and Minister for Women and Equalities, is also an avid supporter.
